The North Alliance brings together the 7 local authorities in the North of Scotland and representatives of the voluntary sector in each of these areas to meet the CPD needs of Community Learning and Development (CLD) staff in the North http://northalliance.ning.com/
The University of Aberdeen – the University of Aberdeen is working in partnership with the North Alliance to research the CPD needs of these people and the best means of meeting the CPD needs http://www.abdn.ac.uk/
The Technology Strategy Board – the Board has provided the funding for this innovative project through the Knowledge Transfer Scheme http://www.ktponline.org.uk/
It is a Knowledge Transfer Project (KTP) which runs for 18 months.The project is conducting action research into the best means of meeting the
continuing professional development needs of CL&D staff in the North of Scotland, many of whom live and work in rural or remote areas.
